In Situ Fabrication of Constraints for Multicellular Micro‐Spheroids Using Two‐Photon Lithography

2-photon polymerization is a promising technology for creating complex, microscale 3D matrices biomedical and also bioprinting applications. Cancer research provides compelling uses this strategy, in particular, generating constraint around multicellular spheroids. Because these spheroids are inhomogeneous size shape, the ability to target spheroid composed of few living cells requires geometrical control printing shape situ. In study, it presented that two-photon lithography can be used study complex phenomena involved cancer progression, such as collective cell migration situ vitro. This method allows spatial temporal from single spheroids, using dome-shaped confinements with micrometer-sized openings. The confinement leads decreased speed affects actin dynamics. Furthermore, methodology novel way analyzing behavior specific regions structures, by enabling separation while keeping them alive. Ultimately, demonstrates new use controlling growth, morphological cues live cells, thus opening avenues toward dynamic structures.
